DriveHQ Features

DriveHQ is the first Cloud IT service provider. Since 2003, we have created a long list of Enterprise Cloud features. Not only do we offer more features than our competitors, but also our features are more optimized for enterprises. For detailed comparison, please visit the service comparison pages.

DriveHQ Cloud IT Service main features

Our long list of features might seem overwhelming at first glance. However, the main features are extremely easy, such as WebDAV Drive Mapping and DriveHQ FileManager.

Users with more complex requirements can use our broad list of features

- Access and manage cloud files via web browser

DriveHQ has many powerful browser-based features: You can drag-n-drop upload files from your PC to a cloud folder; you can easily access, manage, lock, share, backup or publish files from anywhere; and it supports flash / HTML5-based batch file uploader.

Our browser-based Group Admin Tool allows you to create, edit, delete and disable sub-users. You can create sub-users with different roles and nested sub-groups for branch offices / departments. The "True" Drop Box feature is also implemented in browser, which enables anybody to upload files to you without the hassle of signing up or signing in.

Cloud service is more than just browser-based. Read more powerful cloud features below.

- Directly edit cloud files with a mapped drive

Over the past decade, DriveHQ has perfected WebDAV Drive Mapping technologies. If you used SharePoint or other drive mapping solutions before and thought WebDAV is slow or unreliable, think again and try our WebDAV service. You can click the Software tab, then download WebDAV Drive Mapping Tool. You can easily tell that it is much more reliable than any other WebDAV solutions; moreover, the mapped drive is usually at least 3 times faster; you can even open a cloud folder with over 10,000 files in just a few seconds. If it is still not enough, our WebDAV is integrated with our cloud service. You can use DriveHQ FileManager or FTP to download or upload any amount of data.

- Enterprise folder sync: sync multiple cloud and local folders

Most other folder sync solutions are not enterprise ready, e.g.: They can only sync one folder; cannot support multiple sync tasks with different schedules; cannot sync a folder with too many files (e.g. 100,000 files). DriveHQ FileManager supports enterprise-class folder sync with the following features: Sync multiple local folders with multiple cloud folders; Real-time sync and scheduled sync, Syncing shared folders and group folders. To sync a folder, just right click on it and select Sync. FileManager can sync a folder with up to 1 million files!

With FileManager, you can directly open and edit cloud files without synchronization. Also, you don't have to wait for a folder to finish syncing before you can work on the files.

- Automatic data backup: not folder synchronization, safer than sync

DriveHQ offers local-to-cloud and cloud-to-cloud data backup services. Compared with other online backup software / services, DriveHQ Online Backup has quite a few advantages: It is extremely easy-to-use. To backup a folder, just go to the Backup tab and click Create. You can create multiple backup tasks to backup different folders. You can set different schedules for your backup tasks. For large enterprises, DriveHQ supports Group Backup service where you can back up many PCs and laptops. You can monitor and manage your backup tasks from your Group Admin account.

- One cloud file server, accessible anywhere without VPN

If you still use a local file server, you should seriously consider migrating it to the cloud. It is hard to maintain a local file server: you must back up your data every day, install security patches at least once per month, and use complicated tools to secure your folder permissions.

Using VPN to access remote files is very hard. Every user will have to install a VPN client, or configure a VPN connection to access the file server in your office. Not only it is complicated, but also it is slow in accessing remote files. Another major problem is about sharing files with an external client. Most organizations don't want to create an account in their system for an external client as it clearly compromises the system security.

DriveHQ's cloud file server solves all of the above problems. If you have multiple office locations, you can save even more.

- Complete FTP server hosting solution, setup in minutes

FTP is an old file transferring technology. Being old actually means it is very mature. At least tens of millions of users use FTP. In fact, FTP technologies have also evolved, and it can be as secure as any modern cloud technologies if you use FTP over SSL (FTPS) or SFTP. Popular FTP client software such as FileZilla, CuteFTP, WsFTP and SmartFTP all support FTP over SSL and SFTP.

DriveHQ is one of the largest FTP server hosting service providers. You can use any FTP client to access our service. Moreover, our FTP service is integrated with our Cloud IT service. You can use DriveHQ FileManager, WebDAV Drive Mapping or any web browser to access / manage your files in the cloud. You can also create FTP download links or HTTP download links for other users to download your files.

- Cloud-based File Sharing / Group Collaboration service

Built for business, DriveHQ has the most powerful file sharing solution. You just need to right click on a folder and select Share, then enter the usernames / email addresses of the persons that you want to share with. You can share a folder to non-DriveHQ users.

Our Group Account service makes it even more powerful and flexible. You can create and manage sub-users/sub-groups using the Group Admin tool. You can create folders for each sub-user, and share them to the sub-users with different permissions.

File locking is a must-have feature for team collaboration. DriveHQ's cloud file locking feature supports automatic file locking & unlocking. In addition, it supports manual file locking/unlocking

There are a lot more features. Most of them are bundled for no extra charge. Based on your organization size and specific needs, you can visit the Use Cases page for more info about how a typical enterprise uses our service.
