 My camera seems to stop recording at some point during the day. When i come home, the app is no longer open on my computer. Is this due to settings for my actual computer, or is there something I need to re configure with the app itself? It defeats the purpose of having the security camera when it stops recording after a certain amount of time.

It seems you have used the Windows 8 based "Metro" App (Webcam Security Camera). The Metro App, or "Windows Store App" downloaded from Windows Store is optimized for tablets, it cannot fully utilize your PC's capabilities.

If your computer uses an Intel-based processor, it is much better to use our desktop software - CameraFTP Virtual Security System (i.e. VSS). VSS supports multiple webcams and IP cameras. It is a more secure and scalable NVR solution. For more info, please visit:
