DriveHQ launches Enterprise Online Backup 6.0 with Group Backup and Remote Management features

Tens of thousands of businesses have used DriveHQ’s cloud backup service in the past decade. Over last few years, more and more large enterprises are adopting DriveHQ’s cloud backup solution. Often, these enterprises need to backup hundreds of computers. While there are plenty of backup service providers, most are designed for consumers. Consumer backup services lack enterprise features such as creating multiple backup tasks, setting different backup schedules, backing up network/external drives and backup open (locked) files. These backup services also lack Group Backup and Remote Management Features.

DriveHQ Online Backup 5.2 already supported group backup and remote viewing of task list features. The support was mainly offered through web browser. An enterprise group administrator can create and manage sub-users / sub-groups using the web-based group admin tool. However, a group admin user could not create and manage backup tasks on an employee’s computer.

Online Backup 6.0 has dramatically improved these features. The Online Backup client software now has an option to enable remote management. If enabled, a system administrator can remotely create backup tasks on an employee’s computer; he can also manage the task, or monitor the task’s status and progress information. Thus, admins will no longer have to rely on their employees to ensure that the files have been backed up.
