What is DriveHQ Email Hosting? Is it better than other free emails?

DriveHQ Email Hosting is different from any other web-based free email services.
It is designed for high-end users, professionals and businesses. You can
use popular email client applications such as Microsoft Outlook or Outlook
Express to access DriveHQ email. You can keep your emails on the web or download
to your local PC; you can create multiple email accounts for your organization
and have virtually unlimited email box sizes; you can also configure high-end
enterprise features such as private domain emails, auto reply, auto forward,
email aliases and mailing list, etc.

How do I get started with DriveHQ email?
If you are not a DriveHQ member, you need to sign
up now. Once you become a member, then you have an email account: USERNAME@drivehq.com.
Please visit our online help pages for Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express.
For all other email client software, please choose the default SMTP/POP3 port
setting, both the SMTP and POP3 servers are mail.drivehq.com. Please note
all out-going emails require logon.

What is the maximum email box size and the maximum email size?
If you
use Outlook or Outlook Express, then you can get unlimited email box sizes
by downloading emails to local. The maximum email size is 10MB. You can send / share any size files using
DriveHQ FileManager. If you use webmail and keep all emails online, the maximum number of emails online is
between 3,000 (Free) to 50,000.

Is it possible to email a very large file, say a 200MB file?
While it is possible for DriveHQ email to support
such big email attachments, other email servers generally can only handle less than
10MB emails. So in this case, please use DriveHQ Online Storage and Sharing service.
You can share any size files, or many files very easily with DriveHQ FileManager
or any FTP client software.

I have a small business with 10 employees.
Can I get 10 email addresses?
Yes, you can use our Group Account service. You can
easily upgrade to a group account, and then create sub-accounts. Group Account
service gives more flexibility. You can manage sub-accounts yourself. Cost-wise,
it is also cheaper than buying services individually.

What are the most frequent problems our users experience?

(1) When setting up DriveHQ email account, please make
sure that "All out-going emails require logon" is checked and the logon credentials
should be the same as the POP3 settings (the same as DriveHQ account logon info).
(2) Some spam-filters might incorrectly filter DriveHQ emails. In this case:
check your junk/bulk mail folder and contact your other
email service provider to not filter DriveHQ emails.

Can I use DriveHQ email for sending spam emails?
Spamming is strictly prohibited. Your account will
be disabled immediately should you engage in any spamming activities. As a
prevention for such abuse, each user can send a limited number of emails per day.

Can I access DriveHQ email from multiple
computers (using Outlook)?
You can access DriveHQ Email using webmail from any number of
computers. For Outlook access from multiple computers, please make sure you
keep emails on server for a few days before you delete them. It is recommended
to keep your emails on server for 5 days. For more info, please click here.

How can I create my own domain email accounts?
You must be a premium user to use private domain email feature. First of all,
you must own a domain name. If not, you need to register a domain with any
domain registrar company, e.g. network solutions or Register.com, etc. Once
you have a domain, please add a DNS MX record using their web interface.
The MX record should point to DriveHQ email server: 66.220.9.56. If you have
any questions, please contact your domain registrar’s customer support.

Do you offer any email backup software?
Yes, DriveHQ offers DriveHQ Online Backup software, which can automatically backup
your files or emails. We also offer DriveHQ EmailManager, which is designed to backup emails more efficiently.

Do I need to install any client software to access DriveHQ email?
No, you can access DriveHQ email from the webmail interface, or from any email client software.

Can I set email rules and email filters?
Yes, using Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express, you can setup any email rules

Is the service really free?
Yes, we offer free service. However, free service is for
personal and casual use only. It has a lot of restrictions. It is strongly recommended to upgrade to premium service.
Please note DriveHQ account has several types: (1) Free Account and True Account;
both types are free service accounts. If you sign up DriveHQ with a free email address (such as Hotmail/Gmail), your account
type is a Free Account. If you sign up with a corporate email address (such as XXX@Microsoft.com),
your account type is a True Account.
There is generally no limit on webmail usage. You can send any number of emails with the web interface.
There is no limit on the attachment file size. However, it is strongly recommended using FileManager or FTP for sharing large files.
For SMTP service, a Free Account can only send 5 emails/day, while a True Account can send 25 emails/day.
The maximum attachment file size for a Free/True Account is 2MB. The maximum number of recipients is 3.
A Premium Account can send 50-100 emails/day with much less restrictions.
