- What is DriveHQ Business Email Server Hosting Service?
Is it better than other free email services? Is it the same as DriveHQ Online Email Backup service?
DriveHQ Business Email Hosting service is different from other free email services.
We only offer paid email service. It is designed for businesses. You can use popular email client such as Microsoft Outlook,
Outlook Express or smart phones to access your emails.
You can keep your emails in the cloud or download to your local device; you can create multiple email accounts
for your organization and have virtually unlimited email box sizes;
you can also configure high-end enterprise features
such as business domain email addresses, auto reply, auto forward, email aliases and mailing list, etc.
DriveHQ Online Email Backup (EmailManager) Service is different. It is very popular among business users.
It supports drag and drop backup of Outlook emails and contacts. Emails & contacts are
backed up to DriveHQ.com webmail so you can access your emails / contacts from anywhere.
To use DriveHQ Email Backup service, you need to download and install
DriveHQ EmailManager client software,
which supports scheduled / automatic email and address book backup. DriveHQ EmailManager is not
needed for email server hosting service. Also, please note DriveHQ has bundled all storage related
services in the same premium service packages (incl. Online Storage, Online Backup and FTP Server Hosting, etc.).
However, DriveHQ EmailManager (Email Backup) service is separate and is priced based on the number of emails.
- How do I get started with DriveHQ business email hosting
and / or DriveHQ Online Email Backup service?
If you are not a DriveHQ member, you need to sign up first.

For all other email client software,
please choose the default SMTP/POP3/IMAP4 ports (we recommend using SSL/TLS), the SMTP, POP3 and IMAP4 server is mail.firstcloudit.com.
Please note "out-going emails require authentication".
For DriveHQ Online Email Backup service, you just need to download DriveHQ EmailManager client software and install it.
You can then drag and drop or automatically backup emails / contacts to DriveHQ webmail.
- What is my account's maximum email storage and the maximum email size?
If you a POP email client, by default, it will download your emails to local
and then delete them from the server. You need little storage space on the server. Your email storage is limited by your local disk space.
If you use IMAP, it is limited by your account's max storage space. Note your combined file and email storage space
must be less than your account's max storage space.
The maximum email size is about 20MB. You can send / share any size files/folders using DriveHQ FileManager.
If you use webmail and keep all emails online, the maximum number of emails online is 200,000.
- Is it possible to email a very large file, say a 200MB file?
It is possible for DriveHQ email server to support such big email attachments;
however, most other email server & client programs usually can only handle less than 10-20MB emails.
If you need to send very large files, please use DriveHQ Online Storage and Sharing service.
You can share any size files/folders very easily with DriveHQ FileManager or other FTP client software.
- I have a small business with 10 employees.
Can I get 10 email addresses?
Yes, you can use our Group Account service. You can easily upgrade to a group account (if not already a group account),
and then create sub-accounts. You can create and manage sub-accounts using the Group Admin feature.
DriveHQ's user license price is dramatically lower than other business email hosting services.
- What are the most frequent problems our users experience?
(1) When setting up DriveHQ email account, please make sure that "out-going emails (SMTP) require logon"
is checked and the logon credentials should be the same as the POP3/IMAP settings (the same as DriveHQ account logon info).
(2) Some spam-filters may incorrectly filter DriveHQ emails. In this case, ask the email recipients to check their junk/bulk mail folder
and ask their email service provider not to filter DriveHQ emails.
- Can I use DriveHQ email service for sending spam emails?
Spamming is strictly prohibited. Your account will
be disabled immediately should you engage in any spamming activities. As a
prevention for such abuse, each user can send a limited number of emails per day.
- Can I access my DriveHQ email account from multiple
computers/devices (using Outlook)?
You can access DriveHQ Email using webmail from any number of computers.
For Outlook access from multiple computers using POP3, please make sure you keep emails on server for a few days before you delete them.
It is recommended to keep your emails on server for 2 weeks.
If you use IMAP, you can keep all mail boxes on the server. You can access your emails from anywhere.
- How can I create my company domain email accounts?
You must be a paid user to use business domain email feature. First of all, you must own a domain name.
If not, you need to register a domain with any domain registrar company, e.g. network solutions or Register.com, etc.
Once you have a domain, please add a DNS MX record using their web interface. The MX record should point to the
email server mail.firstcloudit.com (or 66.220.9.46). If you have any questions, please contact your domain registrar’s customer support.

- Do you offer any email backup software?
Yes, DriveHQ offers DriveHQ Online Backup software,
which can automatically backup your files or emails. We also offer DriveHQ EmailManager,
which is designed to backup emails,
contacts and accout settings more efficiently.
- Do I need to install any client software to access my DriveHQ emails?
No, you can access your DriveHQ emails from the webmail interface. Almost all operating systems and mobile
devices have a built-in email client.
- Can I set email rules and email filters?
You can set client-side email rules using your email client software. e.g. Microsoft Outlook;
you can setup any email rules or filters. DriveHQ email server also supports email filters and rules. You can access it from the DriveHQ webmail.
- Does DriveHQ offer free email hosting service?
No. DriveHQ's email hosting service is bundled with DriveHQ's cloud IT service for no extra charge.
The email hosting service for paid members (businesses) only.
DriveHQ does not want to compete with other free email service providers. Our free email service is for
demo purpose only. It has a lot of restrictions, e.g.: the email size is limited to 2MB; you can only send very few emails/day.
Paid members can send a lot more emails per day (dependent on your account's max storage space).
