Torchat -- Fixed
This is a fixed-up version of torchat for windows, since it seems nobody else will do it.
Its available in 3 flavors.
- Just the "Tor" folder, to repair an existing copy of torchat
- Tor.zip
- A "fixed' copy of torchat, meaning that the Tor folder (and ONLY the Tor folder) have been replaced
- torchat-windows-0.9.9.277-FIXED.zip
- And for the truly paranoid, the -DPARANOID version that contains:
- The original torchat zipfile
- The original tor installer
- The Tor.zip file (just for the hell of it)
- the bin, doc, src folder, with the underlying Tor folder already replaced, that makes a working copy of torchat
- torchat-windows-0.9.9.277-FIXED-DPARANOID.zip

Tor.exe upgrade for Torchat.. ============================ Note: This is the latest STABLE version of tor as of 5/29/10. Its likely that it will remain working with torchat for a very long time... ============================ Instructions: 1. Find your torchat installation. It doesn't "install" anywhere, so it will be wherever you unzipped the .zip file.. So.. Maybe something like: C:\Users\User\My Documents\torchat-windows-0.9.9.277 And under that is a bin folder, so look with explorer to see: C:\Users\User\My Documents\torchat-windows-0.9.9.277\bin Remember that as that is where this file should be extracted. 2a. Lazy way with winrar/winzip/7zip/etc installed: Move/Copy this Tor.zip into your target: C:\Users\User\My Documents\torchat-windows-0.9.9.277\bin Then right click on the Tor.zip file and an option to: Extract to Tor and they click to overwrite all when asked, replacing the old files. It may be under a winrar/winzip/7zip menu, depending on your install. 2b. Conventional way: You apparently have the zipfile opened already so that you can read this README, so just click "Extract" in winrar/winzip/7zip and choose: C:\Users\User\My Documents\torchat-windows-0.9.9.277\bin Again, click to overwrite existing files to replace the old tor files. Finished. Run torchat from the bin folder...
