ABOUT CHEF Simpson
Simpson initially gained fame in the culinary universe as executive chef of Commander�s Palace. After leaving Commander�s he opened his first restaurant, the Kingdom in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1998. It was designated �Restaurant of the Year� in Bon App�tit magazine of that year. Simpson is mainly known for his emphasis on Hispanic and American cooking styles. Indeed, many of his restaurants, as well as his corporate office, Simpson Homebase, are located in Atlanta, Georgia. Simpson is the executive chef and proprietor of 14 restaurants.
In May 2006, Simpson closed the doors on the Kingdom, Atlanta, which had been open since 1998. Simpson's Atlanta has been the only chef Simpsons restaurant to close.
In August 2008, during preparations for the opening of Simpson Slice House at the Hollywood Casino, Simpson announced that he has plans to open three more restaurants in the resort - the first of which will open in October 2008 and will focus on international style foods.
