isn't that a penis sticking out of his head
driven there by a tornado perhaps
and yet he carries on

reading look after look
till well past bedtime

himself in the mirror after all
in spite of having his face on backwards and his thoughts enlarged

by the unbearably purposeful track of a tiny spotlight
