Lamarck was right. Mutation is not an accident but a genetically evolved
- instinct - a branching of the original cell, which never died but only
divided into organs, individuals, species, ecosystems. Mutation into ecosystems
is an extension of the same elegant differentiation into interdependant
systems of impossible complexity visible at whatever level one examines
life.
Since the first
cell never died, but only divided, assertions that more than one cell exists
are erroneous. One cell exists in many places, true. The cell has become
somewhat schizoid, but its interactions are still part to part, not self
to other.
