When as an infant you began to learn about language, didn't they clearly
imply that you have one and not many names, that definitions are stable.
When everything important can be changed by the slightest inflection. Soon
you can't stop listening carefully, and there's no such thing as silence,
- but the way you do it listening is a lot like talking. All silence becomes
silence of the inner voice, a form of speech. So the world is knitted together,
by a fabulist, a hypothesizer with an interest in the results, a narrator
whose presumption of accuracy is of great power but suspect.
