The
Zeitgeist
says
that
art
is
an
exalted,
an
unusual
thing,
shining
like
a
brain
surgeon
in
a
soap
opera...
and
yes,
fame
does
tend
to
create
drama...
but
still,
this
conception
is
fundamentally
rong.
Billions
of
people
sing,
write,
do
God
knows
what
else.
The
commercial
subset
of
all
this
activity
may
average
out
technically
less
constrained
than
the
art
of
the
average
neighbor,
but
that
is
not
an
essential
difference.
Art
is
really
folk
art,
with
commercial
and
academic
art
beholden
to
second
masters.
