To use Duplicates Detective for Thunderbird you must have the following:
• IBM PC or compatible.
• Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7/8 or Server 2003/2008/2012.
• Administrator privileges for the installation and registration.
• Software: Mozilla Thunderbird for Windows.

Installation Notes
==================

To install Duplicates Detective for Thunderbird
-----------------------------------------------

1. Download the installation program.
2. Exit running applications.
3. Open the folder where you saved the installation program.
4. Choose installation program file "InstallDuDe32.exe", right-click/tap and hit "Run as administrator".
5. Follow installation wizard steps, and read the description for every step.
(Click the Next button to go on to the next step, or click the Back button to return to the previous step.)
6. Specify a folder in which to install Duplicates Detective for Thunderbird, then click Next.
7. Duplicates Detective for Thunderbird is installed in the destination directory.
8. Installer will offer to place a shortcut on your desktop and Quick Launch bar.
9. Installer will offer to start Duplicates Detective for Thunderbird.

To uninstall Duplicates Detective for Thunderbird
-------------------------------------------------

1. Close Duplicates Detective for Thunderbird and other running applications.
2. Click Windows start button, select Control Panel, then click "Programs and Features" (on XP titled "Add or Remove Programs").
3. Find and select "Duplicates Detective for Thunderbird" from the list, and click "Uninstall" (on XP titled "Remove").

To enable HTML Help
-------------------

To open the Help file, start Duplicates Detective for Thunderbird, and press F1 (or click the "Help/Topics" from the main menu).
If Help displays "This page cannot be displayed", do the following:
1. Close Help.
2. Start Windows Explorer.
3. Locate "DuDe.chm" file, inside the folder where the program is installed.
3. Select and right-click the chm-file.
4. Select "Unblock" from the pop-up menu.
5. Return to Duplicates Detective for Thunderbird, and press F1 again.

Sample Usage
============

1. Start Thunderbird.
2. Start Duplicates Detective for Thunderbird.
3. Mailfolders that correspond to default Thunderbird profiles are automatically added to the tree, when starting the program for the first time.
[To add additional profiles, click "Profiles/Add..." from the main menu, and select particular Profile-folder.]
4. Check mailfolders that contain duplicates.
5. Hit "Scan for Duplicates" button.

When the scan is over, duplicates (and corresponding originals) are displayed on the Results-pane.
