NOTES: The 1998 regular season is now a memory. The Dogs and 'Topes each won their last game, winding up with a tie and share of the Mantle pennant crown. The pennant is the first for Springfield. Due to a tie-breaker, the 'Topes will enter the playoffs as the Mantle pennant winner, while the Dogs will be the #1 league wildcard. On the records front, Oregon Wet Sox outfielder Larry Walker set the league record for on base average, with a .490 average. The Mosher's Ray Lankford smashed the old record for most strikeouts, breezing for a mighty 211 K's. On the team records front, the San Francisco Shriners got a lot of batting practice, setting the new single-season record for at bats with 5823.
