THE 1994 CFOD HACKING-MASS TEAM Every year on the internet someone hosts a contest called the Hacking Mass, where people try to predict who the worse offensive players will be. Just for kicks, I've decided to apply their formulas to the players of the CFOD, to see who the "worst" players were at each position. The formula used was PA * (.800 - SLG - OBA). The higher the HM score, the more "offensively- challenged" the individual was. Without further ado, here's the 1994 CFOD Hacking Mass team: NAME AVG OBP SPC POS HM AB BB HB IW TEAM Floyd 0.258 0.307 0.319 1B 92.22 492 36 1 1 Wierdness McLemore 0.230 0.321 0.315 2B 90.53 483 65 1 3 Squids/Tropics Vizcaino 0.219 0.262 0.289 SS 151.14 570 33 2 2 Zippys Brosius 0.197 0.224 0.357 3B 119.79 527 17 3 0 'Topes Ausmus 0.249 0.278 0.317 C 107.22 498 20 5 0 Tropics/Squids L Gonzalez 0.230 0.293 0.326 LF 98.10 491 43 3 5 Regulators L Johnson 0.259 0.291 0.329 CF 105.30 556 25 2 2 Tropics/Squids/Climbers Tinsley 0.157 0.245 0.238 RF 60.86 172 20 0 0 Blue Wave COMMENTS: The hacking-est mass of them all for 1994 was Zippy Jose Vizcaino, who definitely was a contrast to the big Zippy sluggers. Lance Johnson was on 3 different teams in '94, but it didn't seem to hurt his HM score. The Squids & Tropics had 3 of the HM team on at one time or another, 2B Mark McLemore, C Brad Ausmus, and CF Lance Johnson. It was extremely difficult finding a "good" right fielder for the team. The honor ended up going to Lee Tinsley, who was the part-time right fielder for the Blue Wave.
