NOTES: The 2021 CFOD regular season is complete! The Arlington Arthropods capture their first Mantle division title since moving to Arlington, and with a league best 116 wins have home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Cincinnati Rock capture their 2nd straight Koufax division title. The San Mateo Thunder win their first Young division title since 2018, and the Miami Mangos capture the Ruth division title for the first time in franchise history. The 100-game winning Port Huron Hubris are the MK conference wildcard, while the 98-win Olympia Rainiers are the RY conference wildcard. The 96-win Topeka MooseDogs enter the post-season as the #1 league wildcard, and the 95-win San Francisco Organization are the #2 league wildcard. Playoff bracket is as follows: (1) Arlington Arthropods (116-46, Mantle Division Winner (HFA) vs. (4) San Francisco Organization (95-67, #2 League Wildcard) (2) Cincinnati Rock (104-58, Koufax Division Winner) (HFA) vs. (3) Port Huron Hubris (100-62, MK Conference Wildcard) (1) Miami Mangos (102-60, Ruth Division Winner) (HFA) vs. (4) Topeka MooseDogs (96-66, #1 League Wildcard) (2) San Mateo Thunder (98-64, Young Division Winner) (HFA) vs. (3) Olympia Rainiers (98-64, RY Conference Wildcard) The 95 loss club this year (which determines next year's draft order) is as follows: 1. Lakeview Zeros (67-95) (Made playoffs in 2016) 2. Slam Diego Termites (46-116) (#1 overall pick in 2018) 3. Pig's Eye Pirates (63-99) (Made playoffs in 2018) 4. Trisolaris Droplets (46-116) (Made playoffs in 2020) 5. San Francisco Piazza's (49-113) (Made playoffs in 2020) 6. Georgia Fightin' Oglethorpes (55-107) (#1 draft pick in 2021) Finishing 2 games out of the playoffs, the 93 win California Coneheads will draft 7th overall. In new records, Freddy Peralta of the Cincinnati Rock set a new record for hits per 9 innings at 5.1, eclipsing Corey Kluber's 2017 record. The Trisolaris Droplets set a new league worst in team hitting with a .210 average, breaking the Thunder's 2020 mark. The Droplets' 1135 hits are also a new worst, breaking the Thunder's 2020 mark as well. The free swinging Syndicate set a new low water mark in hitter strikeouts, whiffing 1726 times, breaking the 2018 'Topes mark. The Syndicate now own the team record for fewest hitting strikeouts (set way back in 1991!) and most. 6 teams tied for the low water mark in shutouts, recording 0. I will send out playoff notes shortly. Thanks again for another great season!
