2020 CFOD ALL-STAR GAME The 2020 CFOD All-Star game was held at PetCo park, home of the Cincinnati Rock, the team with the best record at the All-Star break. Hometown ace Zach Plesac got the start for the Mantle/Koufax All-Stars, but ran into trouble in the 1st inning. Dallas infielder Jose Ramirez hit a 1 out single, and Topeka outfielder Marcell Ozuna went yard, putting the Ruth/Young All-stars up 2-0. In the top of the 3rd inning, with San Francisco ace Shane Bieber pitching, Ozuna doubled and scored on a 2-run blast from Park City outfielder Wil Myers. Piazza's center fielder Mike Yastrzemki tripled and scored on a ground out from Topeka infielder Ty France. 5-0 RY All-Stars after 3. The Ruth/Young pitchers were keeping the MK All-Stars in check. The first hit for the MK All-Stars happened in the 4th, when Chandler 3B Ke'Bryan Hayes singled (but for no score). In the bottom of the 6th inning, Park City closer Alex Colome loaded the bases with 2 outs. Kyle Zimmer of the Termites came on in relief and gave up a bases clearing double to Mechan's Mookie Betts. 5-3 RY All-Stars after 6. The RY All-Stars padded their lead in the 7th with a sacrifice fly from SuperSquad shortstop Xander Bogaerts. The MK All-Stars closed the lead to 2 in the 8th when Killers 2B DJ LeMahieu singled and scored on an RBI double from Lakeview 1B Freddie Freeman. But that is as close as they would get. Seattle infielder Chris Taylor connected on a 2-run homer in the 9th, driving in fellow Mosher Nelson Cruz for the comfortable 8-4 lead. Rainiers setup man Tyler Matzek got to close out the All-Star game, retiring the batters in order. The RY All-Stars jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they win the 2020 All-Star game by a score of 8-4. 2020 CFOD ALL-STAR MVP: Responsible for the early scores, Topeka outfielder Marcell Ozuna went 3 for 5 with a double, home run, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI to get All-Star MVP honors. 7/4/2020, RY20-MK20, Petco Park 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 R H E LOB DP 2020 RY All-Stars 2 0 3 0 0 0 1 0
