NOTES: The Rock and Malice won their final game, clinching playoff spots for the both of them and shutting the Angry Candy and 'Topes out of the playoffs. The Climbers won their final game, clinching the Young division title, their first since 2008. The Thunder and Moshers finished with identical records, and the Thunder's 8-4 record against Seattle means Rocklin enters as the RY Conference Wildcard and Seattle is the #1 League Wildcard. Cincinnati and Minneapolis finished with identical records, and battled to a 6-6 tie in the regular season. Cincinnati's +141 run margin gives them the MK Conference Wildcard over the +88 run margin Malice, who will be the #2 league wildcard. The Coneheads posted the best record in the RY conference, and their 2015 Ruth division title is their 2nd in 3 years. The Syndicate won 109 games and captured the Mantle division title, their first since 2011. The Pirates capture their 2nd straight Koufax division title, and once again post the league's best regular season record, winning 112 games. The playoff bracket is as follows: MK Conference Bracket: 1. Pirates (112-50) (Koufax Division Winner) (HFA) vs. Malice (91-71) (#2 League Wildcard) 2. Syndicate (109-53) (Mantle Division Winner) (HFA) vs. Rock (91-71) (MK Conference Wildcard) RY Conference Bracket: 1. Coneheads (95-67) (Ruth Division Winner) (HFA) vs. Moshers (93-69) (#1 League Wildcard) 2. Climbers (94-68) (Young Division Winner) (HFA) vs. Thunder (93-69) (RY Conference Wildcard) In draft news, the Pioneers and Walruses both lost their final game of the season to qualify for the 95-loss draft club. That's fortunate for them, as it puts them in the #1 and #3 draft spots, respectively. The rest of the club falls out as follows: 1. Tualatin Pioneers 67 95 .414 #1 Draft Pick 2004 2. Arlington Arthropods 63 99 .389 Playoffs 2012 3. Walcott Walruses 67 95 .414 Playoffs 2012 4. Georgia Fightin Oglethorpes 62 100 .383 Playoffs 2013 5. San Francisco Piazza's 47 116 .290 #1 Draft Pick 2014 6. Lakeview Zeros 54 108 .333 Playoffs 2014 The Angry Candy tied with the 'Topes for the best record to not make the playoffs, and with the regular season series tied 6-6, the tiebreaker is run margin. The Candy's +107 was better than Springfield's +91, so the Angry Candy will get to draft #7 overall. In league records, the Pioneers set the dubious mark for lowest team on base average, breaking a 1 year old Climbers record. The playoff bound Moshers also set a dubious record, setting a new league low for fewest team walks. On the positive side, the Pirates tied the mark for most team saves with 65, tying several Thunder squads, and the Thunder set a new record for most strikeouts by a pitching staff with 1659, breaking the Pirates' 1 year-old record. Perhaps a sign of the shifting role of pitchers, but the Walruses, Malice, Brouhaha and Fightin' Oglethorpes tied the league record low of complete games with 0. There were 7 teams on the list previously in the 24 year history of the league. I will post playoff information shortly. Thanks again for another great season!
