2014 CFOD All-Star Teams Below are the teams for the 2014 CFOD all-star game to be held at Wrigley Field, home of the Pig's Eye Pirates, the team with the best record at the break. Players were selected according to the following formulas: BATVAL = 0.09*(RUNS+RBI)+(AB+BB)*(OBA+SBSLG-0.701)*0.09 STARTPITVAL = ((WINS+SAVES)/1.2+IP/10*((LN(3.72/ERA)+LN(0.701/OPS)))) RELPITVAL = ((WINS+SAVES)/1.6+IP/5*((LN(3.72/ERA)+LN(0.701/OPS)))) Where SBSLG is slugging percentage with net steals factored in, WHIP is (walks + hits)/IP, and LN is the natural log of the function. Starters are those that have at least half of their game appearances as game starts, while relievers are those that do not have at least half of their appearances as game starts. Hitters only qualified at the position where they've played the most this season, with centerfielders also qualifying in the left/right fielder positions if they had enough value. In general the formulas were balanced such that the best hitters/starters/relievers had an equal contribution from runs/RBI's/wins/saves as from their sabrmatic-esque stats. The best player from each conference to not qualify as a starter or a reserve gets added to the team as a pinch hitter, to potentially be used in late innings at bats.
