Every year since 1998 I've been keeping track of team's "core ages", which I classify as their
keeper list plus their 1st or 1st & 2nd round picks.  Below is this year's edition, also showing
the last 5 years worth of data.  

The Pirates are still forever young, being the youngest team by far for the 3rd year in a row with 
an average core age of 24.4.  The Organization added a lot of veteran help, jumping 2 years in age
on their way to becoming the most seasoned team in the league at 31.4 years of age.
