Fernandez's year was quite memorable for the Mangos, who won 84 games in a division where everyone had a winning record. Fernandez's 1.88 ERA was over a half run better than 2nd place, and tied for the league lead in wins with 19, and had the best winning percentage at 79.2%. His batting average, on base average, and slugging against were all league bests. The rookie was somewhat limited in innings, just appearing in 27 games. It was no coincidence that Fernandez's season ending coincided with the Mangos falling out of the playoff hunt. Still, the limited innings should help him come back healthy and ready for a full season in 2014, right? ******************************************************************* 2013 CFOD FIREMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD 2nd Runner Up - Greg Holland, Paxtang Pitbulls P ERA OPS OPSvL OPSvR W L S G GS CG SHO INN H R ER BB K HR GDP BF cl 1.43 .508 .616 .405 6 4 32 65 0 0 0 75.1 42 12 12 22 91 6 4 286 The Pitbulls won 96 games and a conference wildcard playoff spot this year, thanks in large part to Greg Holland's work in the 9th inning.
