Every year since 1998 I've been keeping track of team's "core ages", which I classify as their
keeper list plus their 1st or 1st & 2nd round picks.  Below is this year's edition, also showing
the last 5 years worth of data.  

The retooling Pirates have the league's youngest core, shaving off nearly 3 years off their
average age.  Miami slips to #2 while still getting almost a year younger.  Walcott maintains
their veteran status, posting the oldest core for the 2nd year in a row.
