NOTES: The 2011 CFOD season is complete! The Syndicate win their 3rd Mantle division pennant in 4 years and the Pirates win their 2nd Koufax division pennant in 3 years. In the Ruth/Young division, the Pismo Beach Drunken Clams made history by winning their first ever pennant in the Ruth Division, while the Brouhaha win their first Young division pennant in 13 years. The San Francisco Organization and Seattle Moshers make the playoffs as conference wildcards, and the Angry Candy and Arlington Arthropods put 4 of 6 Mantle division teams into the playoffs as the league wildcards. Here is the playoff bracket: Round 0: Arlington Arthropods (#2 league WC, 89-73) vs. Angry Candy (#1 league WC, 90-72) (HFA) Round 1: Round 0 winner vs. Pig's Eye Pirates (Koufax winner, 97-65)(HFA) San Francisco Organization (MK Conf. WC, 91-71) vs. Mechan Syndicate (Mantle winner, 93-69)(HFA) Seattle Moshers (RY Conf. WC, 88-74) vs. Pismo Beach Drunken Clams (Ruth winner, 91-71)(HFA) BYE vs. Brookfield Brouhaha (95-67)(HFA) The Rocklin Thunder lost 102 games, giving them the #1 overall pick. Due to the amazing level of parity seen in the league this year (the Pirates won the most games with 97), no other team qualified for the 95-loss club. That means that Somerville, who just lost out on the playoffs with 87 wins, gets the #2 overall pick. The Walruses pick 3rd and the California Coneheads get their highest ever draft position, drafting 4th overall after a team record low of "only" 85 wins. In 2011 Jose Reyes broke his old record for triples, hitting 28. The Malice set a new team low for batting average, hitting only .231. The starting pitching-strapped Piazza's tied the mark for lows in complete games, getting a big 0 for the year. I will be sending out playoff info shortly. Thanks for another great season!
