2011 Most Valuable Player Award 2nd runner up - Troy Tulowitzki, Mechan Syndicate AVG OBP SPC G AB H 2B 3B HR R RBI BB K HBP IW SB CS .302 .350 .565 162 639 193 36 3 42 94 120 49 97 2 5 7 1 The Mechan Syndicate captured the Mantle division pennant on their way to a 93 win season. A big part of that was due to the best hitting shortstop in the game today, Troy Tulowitzki. Tulowitzki was top 7 in slugging percentage and RBI, and 6th in home runs. Tulowitzki was tied for 3rd in sacrifice flies with 8, and 7th in on base average + slugging. Tulowitzki was also not too bad on the glove, finished third in fielding percentage with a 99.1% rate. ------------------------------------------------------------ 1st runner up - Curtis Granderson, San Francisco Piazza's AVG OBP SPC G AB H 2B 3B HR R RBI BB K HBP IW SB CS .272 .364 .671 162 633 172 29 7 70 138 166 89 193 7 3 9 4 The Piazza's finished under .500 this year, but it was not due to Granderson, who put up some gaudy stats on the way to leading the Piazza's to the league's highest scoring offense in 2011. Granderson was tops in slugging average, runs scored, RBI, home runs, extra base hits, 2nd in runs created, 2nd in total average, tops in AB per home run (nearly 3 AB better than 2nd place), and tops in outfield assists with 18. ------------------------------------------------------------ 2011 MVP - Jose Bautista, Pig's Eye Pirates AVG OBP SPC G AB H 2B 3B HR R RBI BB K HBP IW SB CS .337 .439 .661 159 593 200 36 3 50 134 150 107 121 7 1 4 2 The Pirates posted the best record in the majors, and captured the Koufax division pennant with the league's 2nd highest scoring offense. Smack dab in the middle of their lineup was Jose Bautista, who had a monster year at the plate. Bautista was 4th in batting average, 2nd in on base average, 2nd in slugging, runs, RBI, and home runs. Bautista had a runs created/27 outs value of 11.5, more than 2 runs better than 2nd place. His on base plus slugging average was 65 points higher than 2nd place as well. In 2011 Bautista was the complete hitting and power package. ***************************************************************************** 2011 CFOD Cy Young Award 2nd runner up - Doug Fister, Pismo Beach Drunken Clams ERA OPS W L S G GS CG SHO INN H R ER BB K HR GDP BF 2.57 .616 16 5 0 36 36 5 2 252.0 224 77 72 45 177 13 22 1018 The Clams won their first ever pennant in CFOD history, and a large part of that was due to the ace pitching of Doug Fister.
