His 86.1% quality start percentage was also league best. His 33 saves tied for 4th in the league, but his ERA was a reliever league best of 1.49. His 6-2 record indicated he lost very few games he appeared in. However, Rincon's effect was most pronounced in the close games. Despite being outscored by 20 runs over the coarse of the season, the Brouhaha still won 89 games and earned a playoff berth. How? By a 28-18 record in 1 run games and a 10-6 extra innings record. Much of that was due to Rincon shutting the other side down while the offense scored that precious extra run.
