2003 CFOD No-Stars at the Break And now for something completely different ... What's the opposite of an all-star? Why, a no-star, of course. Just as there are players at the top of their game, there are players at the bottom. This is the list. Players were evaluated with the same formula used for the all-star game. A player had to play the majority of their games at the position to qualify. In addition, there was a 150 at bat minimum to qualify for hitters. There were no minimums for pitchers. Cristian's impression of Rickey Henderson isn't very good, being caught more times stealing than successfully swiping a base. Miami's Geoff Blum comes in 2nd, with a 0.553 OPS, and 7 runs scored/7 RBI's in 162 at bats. Park City is leading their division quite handily, but it's no thanks to Brian Roberts, who is hitting .195 at 2nd. The slugger of the bunch is Brookfield's Ricky Ledee, who is slugging .410 but only has a .237 batting average. Sacramento's woeful season reflects upon their starting pitchers, 3 of whom made the no-star team. The starters are a combined 7-33, with an average ERA north of 7. Carolina's Trever Miller is a slugger's dream, coughing up a run an inning to give him a 9.17 ERA for the season. Seattle's Javier Lopez has miraculously pitched in 26 games without absorbing a loss. He must be a clubhouse favorite.
