NOTES: On the final day of the season, the Piazza's lost, and the Pitbulls and Climbers won, putting the 3 teams in a 3-way tie for the last 2 playoff spots. Paxtang won the season series against both teams, and thus claim the RY conference wildcard. The Piazza's and Climbers tied each other at 6 games each during the regular season. Rather than go through additional tiebreakers and kick one team out, the Piazza's and Climbers will play a 7 game "round 0" series. The winner advances to the playoffs officially as the #2 league wildcard, while the loser goes back in the pool as if they had missed the playoffs. The Coneheads win their 3rd pennant in 4 years (and keep their playoff streak alive, going into their 12th straight post-season), while the Moshers win their first pennant since 1994, and make their first playoff appearance since 1995. The Shriners are back after an appearance in 2000, while the Brewins make their first post-season appearance since 1993. The Pitbulls won their divsion last year and return as conference wildcards. If the Climbers make the playoffs, it will be their first since 1994, while it will be the first for the Piazza's since 1995. There were several records broken this year. After terrorizing pitchers in 2001, the league gave Mechan's Barry Bonds a pass, allowing him to set the record for on base percentage with 0.541. The Shriners made the playoffs, but not before Jose Hernandez set the dubious mark for strikeouts, with 229. On the team fielding front, the slick fielding Zippys tied the league low for team errors with 77. Despite having a top 5 ERA, the reliever-heavy Angry Candy tied the record for fewest complete games with 0. The Regulators, Mangos, Termites and Arthropods were members of the 95 loss club this year. Arlington made the club on the last game of the season.
