CDBL 1994 MVP AWARD ******* 2ND RUNNER UP -- Jeff Bagwell, 1B, Tualatin Thunder P AVG OBP SPC G AB H 2B 3B HR R RBI BB K HBP IW SB CS 1b .369 .434 .791 162 656 242 48 8 71 176 167 77 99 3 7 12 9 Jeff Bagwell had one of the greatest statistical seasons ever seen in the CDBL. His 176 runs were the most ever scored, and his 71 home runs were the most ever hit. His .791 slugging percentage was league best, as was his 127 extra base hits. He was top 10 in batting average and on base average as well. Alas, the Thunder's 82-20 record was Bagwell's biggest knock. He put up the stats, but it wasn't enough to bring victory to Tualatin this season. ******* 1ST RUNNER UP -- Albert Belle, OF, Albuquerque Maul P AVG OBP SPC G AB H 2B 3B HR R RBI BB K HBP IW SB CS lf .340 .389 .725 162 639 217 54 3 62 143 167 57 113 3 10 15 4 Belle was the primary force behind the Maul's offense, posting top 10 performances in batting average, slugging average, hits, runs, RBI, home runs, and doubles. Take away Belle's performance and the Maul would likely have not won the Gehrig division pennant. ******* 1994 CDBL MVP -- Ken Griffey Jr, CF, Arkham Investigators P AVG OBP SPC G AB H 2B 3B HR R RBI BB K HBP IW SB CS cf .343 .386 .712 162 685 235 34 9 67 138 178 53 101 0 2 11 10 Ken Griffey Jr had a banner year for the Investigators, who put up the league's best record at 106-56. Griffey led the league in RBI (setting a new record in the process), and was top 10 in batting average, slugging average, home runs, runs, hits, and even had a 24 game hitting streak. Griffey dominated the majors from the get-go and helped make Arkham the dominant team in the regular season.
