1993 CDBL ALL-STAR TEAMS The 1993 CDBL all-star teams were selected based upon the following formulas: BATVAL = 0.09*(RUNS+RBI)+(AB+BB)*(OBA+SBSLG-0.740)*0.09 STARTPITVAL = ((WINS+SAVES)/1+IP/10*((LN(4.19/ERA)+LN(1.372/WHIP)))) RELPITVAL = ((WINS+SAVES)/2+IP/5*((LN(4.19/ERA)+LN(1.372/WHIP)))) Where SBSLG is slugging percentage with net steals factored in, WHIP is (walks + hits)/IP, and LN is the natural log of the function. Starters are those that have at least half of their game appearances as game starts, while relievers are those that do not have at least half of their appearances as game starts. Hitters only qualified at the position where they've played the most this season, with centerfields also qualifying in the left/right field positions if they had enough value. In general the formulas were balanced such that the best hitters/starters/relievers had an equal contribution from runs/RBI's/wins/saves as from their sabrmatic-esque stats. This year's game will be played at Royals Stadium, home of the Tualatin Thunder, the team with the best record at the break (57-35).
