You drive them in, of course, which is what George Bell did. A lot. Bell knocked in a league leading (and league record) 156 runs, a good 30 more than 2nd place. Bell also placed 4th in the league in slugging (.519), 6th in the league in runs scored with 111, 3rd in homers with 39, and 1st in total bases with 354. Bell also helped the Investigators to their 1st ever playoff appearance. ***************** 1986 CDBL MVP - Tim Raines, OF, Point Lomas Friars/DC Riots 1986 LINE NAME AVG OBP SPC G AB H 2B 3B HR R RBI BB K HB IW SB CS Raines .350 .424 .506 161 638 223 28 21 10 138 54 83 66 2 1 82 16 Point Lomas acquired Tim Raines in the opening games of the season, and it turned out to be a very smart decision. Raines was a monster on the basepaths, stealing a league leading 82 steals and scoring a league leading 138 runs. Raines also led the league in triples with 21, batting average with .350, and placed 2nd in hits and on base percentage. Raines even placed in the top 10 in slugging, and led the league in total average and runs created. Point Lomas terrorized the league on their way to the best record in the league, and a big part of that was due to the run creation power of Tim Raines.
