Here's the formulas for determining player value: PITCHING $$ = 2.6*(Wins/4.2 + Saves/4.2 + IP/100*(3.58/ERA+1.32/WHIP)) BATTING $$ = 0.09*(RBI+RUNS)+0.025*(AB+BB)*(OBA+SBSLG-0.800) Where WHIP is (hits+walks)/IP, and SBSLG is slugging percentage with net steals factored in. 1ST TEAM ALL-CDBL NAME Team PS AVG OBP SBSLG VAL AB H 2B 3B HR R RBI SB CS Balboni Stingrays 1B 0.262 0.320 0.536 20.2 565 148 23 2 43 91 124 1 2 Sandberg ToWiggins 2B 0.296 0.343 0.508 20.3 659 195 35 5 23 99 116 37 11 Guerrero ToWiggins 3B 0.363 0.445 0.683 28.9 589 214 32 6 48 122 138 6 6 Fisk Stingers C 0.256 0.323 0.535 17.9 540 138 27 0 37 93 96 19 6 Henderson Mashers CF 0.324 0.428 0.618 24.8 623 202 40 10 22 130 95 69 12 Murphy Bulldogs OF 0.275 0.353 0.520 22.0 652 179 28 0 42 117 113 7 1 Parker Lush OF 0.313 0.352 0.543 21.9 668 209 42 6 33 92 133 10 9 Schmidt Flames SS 0.257 0.341 0.520 20.7 600 154 33 10 35 114 104 1 1 NAME Team PS ERA W L S WHIP VAL IP G GS CG SH K Gooden Stallions SP 2.23 20 11 0 1.13 35.07 314.2 41 41 11 4 284 Tudor Destinies SP 2.63 24 6 0 1.05 33.42 273.2 35 35 15 3 174 Smith Stingers SP 2.31 21 5 0 1.01 32.05 256.2 33 33 13 3 156 SaberhagenPhalanx SP 2.14 14 7 0 0.99 29.08 261 34 34 10 3 188 rHough Stallions SP 2.57 16 11 0 1.07 28.80 277 37 37 10 4 159 Davis,M Weavers RP 2.83 6 8 31 1.19 29.16 101.2 78 0 0 0 129 Righetti Stingers RP 2.04 4 7 32 1.37 27.88 79.1 63 0 0 0 66 Hume Mashers RP 2.28 8 6 30 1.37 27.42 59.1 53 0 0 0 28 cHernandezBulldogs/Flames RP 1.91 6 5 27 0.95 27.22 80 61 0 0 0 71 rThomas,R Stingrays RP 1.81 11 3 19 1.18 26.96 104.2 61 0 0 0 91 NOTES: Pedro Guerrero's season was simply incredible. Guerrero led the league (and set league records) for batting average, home runs and RBI to get the triple crown. Guerrero also set OBA & slugging percentage records. Rickey Henderson set the league record for runs scored and stole 69 bases as well. Steve Balboni & Dale Murphy each cranked out 40+ home runs which helped them earn 1st team honors. Mike Schmidt played the whole year at shortstop, which helped him dominate in a weak position. The three dominant starters this year were Doc Gooden, John Tudor and Bryn Smith, each winning 20+ games. Bret Saberhagen "only" won 14 games, but posted a league record 2.14 ERA. Mark Davis and Roy Thomas did their "super reliever" impression, with Davis saving 31 games and Thomas winning 11 while putting in over 100 innings in relief. 2ND TEAM ALL-CDBL NAME Team PS AVG OBP SBSLG VAL AB H 2B 3B HR R RBI SB CS Hernandez ToWiggins 1B 0.309 0.375 0.469 18.6 682 211 41 5 19 119 78 3 2 Herr Stingers 2B 0.277 0.350 0.444 15.4 665 184 36 4 11 99 73 45 11 Brett Stingers 3B 0.352 0.404 0.596 26.2 674 237 51 8 30 122 128 11 3 Gedman Stingrays C 0.316 0.370 0.539 14.9 449 142 30 4 20 78 73 3 1 Barfield Lush CF 0.271 0.347 0.531 21.0 635 172 28 12 31 95 123 30 10 Evans Hurdlers OF 0.265 0.366 0.448 19.4 634 168 31 2 25 100 113 8 2 Dawson Apaches OF 0.318 0.349 0.590 17.5 466 148 20 4 31 85 90 13 7 Backman Hurdlers SS 0.335 0.370 0.521 14.3 468 157 27 9 4 77 69 34 4 NAME Team PS ERA W L S WHIP VAL IP G GS CG SH K Hurst Weavers SP 2.64 20 9 0 1.15 27.24 228.1 32 32 5 1 180 Cox Traffic SP 3.32 19 13 0 1.25 26.33 262.2 41 41 3 0 150 Burns Trout SP 2.66 17 8 0 1.08 25.43 223.2 32 31 8 3 188 Higuera Apaches SP 3.11 15 10 0 1.05 24.71 246.1 33 33 8 3 161 Key Traffic SP 3.23 16 10 0 1.05 24.62 239.2 35 35 4 3 96 Stewart Bulldogs RP 2.98 14 10 15 1.36 26.49 151 84 3 0 0 84 rAgosto Liberty RP 0.88 2 2 23 0.97 25.51 71.1 48 0 0 0 40 Smith Irish RP 2.32 3 5 28 1.24 24.42 77.2 60 0 0 0 101 NiedenfuerPhalanx RP 3.09 10 6 22 1.13 23.69 64 53 0 0 0 64 Castillo Mountaineers RP 1.76 7 4 22 1.05 23.19 61.1 54 0 0 0 60 NOTES: George Brett was probably the 2nd best slugger in the CDBL, yet made the 2nd all-CDBL team due to Guerrero's spot at 3B. Joining Brett on the 2nd all-CDBL team is Stinger 2B Tommy Herr. Andre "Hawk" Dawson smacked 31 homers, which helped the Apaches make the post-season. The Weavers' Bruce Hurst was the 4th CDBL pitcher to win 20 games, and the Traffic's Danny Cox was close behind with 19 wins. The Liberty's Juan Agosto failed to make the 1st all-CDBL team due to a relative lack of saves, but posted amazing ERA and WHIP numbers. Sammy Stewart of the Bulldogs practically put up starter's innings, and won 14 games. THOSE WHO ALMOST MADE THE CUT..
