Down 0-2 in the series, Topeka was hoping their fortunes would change with the first game at home. Daniel Cabrera had a case of nerves, loading the bases with 1 out. Craig Biggio cleared them with a 3-RBI double. In the 2nd, Brian Giles tripled and scores on a Carlos Delgado single. 4-0 Hong Kong after 2. The Stingers scored their first run of the game in the 4th, when Scott Podsednik walked, stole second and scored on a single from Jeff Kent. In the 5th, Jeff Conine hit a 1 out base hit, moved to third on a double from Ryan Doumit and scored on a single from Javy Lopez. 4-2 Topeka. 2 runs would be as close as the Stingers would get this game. Hong Kong scored an insurance run in the 6th, 8th, and 2 in the 9th on a 2-RBI double from Delgado. The Stingers did load the bases in the bottom of the 9th, but Joe Nathan struck out Hideki Matsui with 2 outs to end the game. Hong Kong wins game 3 by a score of 8-3, and are a win away from advancing to the GT Conference Finals.
