NOTES: With a 5-4 victory over the Mashers in their final game of the season, the Point Lomas Friars capture the Aaron division title, their first title since 1986. Madison is the winner of the Paige division title, their first title since 1999. With 104 wins, they also secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Hong Kong wins their 2nd Gehrig division title in 3 years, and Avila wins their 2nd straight Tiant division title. The Tualatin Thunder enter the playoffs as the AP Conference Wildcard, while the Topeka Stingers are the GT Conference wildcard (their first playoff appearance since 2001). The Manhatten Beach Mashers are the #1 league wildcard, and the DBL Fishbiscuits are the #2 league wildcard due to Manhatten Beach winning the season series 7 games to 2. The playoff brackets are as follows: Round 0: Manhatten Beach Mashers (96-66, #1 League Wildcard) (HFA) vs. DBL Fishbiscuits (96-66, #2 League Wildcard) Round 0: (1) Madison Muckrakers (104-58, Paige Division Winner) (HFA) vs. (4) Round 0 Winner (2) Point Lomas Friars (98-64, Aaron Division Winner) (HFA) vs. (3) Tualatin Thunder (98-64, AP Conf. Wildcard) (1) Avila Dragons (103-59, Tiant Division Winner) (HFA) vs. BYE (2) Hong Kong Cavaliers (96-66, Gehrig Division Winner) (HFA) vs. (3) Topeka Stingers (93-69, GT Conf. Wildcard) The 95 loss club is as follows, which is also the top of the draft order for 2006: 1. Georgia Pines (55-106) (Last Made Playoffs 2000) 2. Elk Grove Trout (50-111) (Last Made Playoffs 2003) 3. Dedham Destroyers (60-101) (Last Made Playoffs 2003) 4. Springfield Isotopes (34-127) (Last Made Playoffs 2004) Having just missed out on the playoffs, the 91 win Albuquerque Maul will draft 5th. In new records, the lowly Isotopes tied the record league low for complete games with 1, and tied the record for fewest shutouts with 0. Carlos Silva of the Decaf had excellent control, setting a new league record for fewest walks per 9 innings with a 0.40 rate. I will send out playoff information shortly. Thanks again for another great regular season!
