NOTES: The 2003 CDBL regular season is now in the history books! The Mashers and Pilots both won their final games to finish at an impressive 110 wins each. The teams battled to a 2-2 regular season draw, so the next tiebreaker is run margin. The Pilots had a +276 run differential this year, and the Mashers +221, so the Pilots have the honor of home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Aaron Division title was Manhatten Beach's 2nd straight, while for Paige Division winner Springfield it was their 3rd division title in 4 years. The Hong Kong Cavaliers won the Gehrig Division pennant for the first time since 1996, and Milwaukee's Tiant division pennant is their first in franchise history. The Elk Grove Trout completed a strong 2nd half of the season to nab the AP Conference Wildcard, their first playoff appearance since 1991. The 106-win Dedham Destroyers enter the playoffs as the GT Conference Wildcard, while the 102-win Alphaville Cautions and 92-win Boston Bulldogs will enter the playoffs to face each other in a one-game-take-all Round 0 matchup. The playoff bracket is below: AP Bracket: (1) Manhatten Beach Mashers (110-52, Aaron Division Pennant) vs. (4) BYE (2) Springfield Isotopes (90-72, Paige Division Pennant) (HFA) vs. (3) Elk Grove Trout (87-75, AP Conference Wildcard) GT Bracket: (1) Milwaukee Pilots (110-52, Tiant Division Pennant) (HFA) vs. Round 0 Winner (2) Hong Kong Cavaliers (100-62, Gehrig Division Pennant) (HFA) vs. Dedham Destroyers (106-56, GT Conference Wildcard) Round 0 Single Game Matchup (1) Alphaville Cautions (102-60, #1 League Wildcard) (HFA) vs. Boston Bulldogs (92-70, #2 League Wildcard) Here are this year's 95 loss club, and their sorted draft position in the 2004 draft: 1. Roy Halladay tied the mark for fewest walks given up per 9 innings, giving up 0.7 walks per 9 innings. And the slow footed Topeka Stingers set a new team low for steals, swiping just 20 bases this year.
